Last day

Today was the last day before ramadan and the last day that I'll be with all my coworkers at the same time. The reason for the latter is because we work in shifts and the guys come in at late hours.

We were still unsure if today was ramadan or not so I made a speech yesterday, thanking everyone and such.  Unfortunately I couldn't help myself and started bawling! I couldn't continue my sentences, so they all just said "we get it, we get it". Then everyone started to say things about me and it made me feel special.

My team did a goodbye gathering at the office and it meant so much for me!

Over the 2 years on the team, I have grown so much and met sooo many people I wouldn't have otherwise. I consider myself lucky with all the opportunities that I was given.

On my way home from work today,  I started thinking about the good bye email I need to write to my team. I came home and immediately started typing it out. I'm not going to send it until my last day but I had all these things I wanted to say flowing in, so I had to write it out before forgetting.

My fingers couldn't stop typing and it was probably one of the easiest emails I had to write! I had so much to say that it all just came out.

I read the email to my dad and he said "you're so creative. I wish you worked on something that includes writing".

I'll try to remember to post it here after I send it out.

I promise that I will pursue something in writing. I'm still in the process of getting to know myself better.

Hello Yesterday

Over the weekend a really good friend of mine who used to work with me were invited to one of my current coworkers home to meet his 4 sisters and mom.

We were supposed to go Friday night but due to some issues it got postponed to the following day.

We were told it's canceled after we met up. At this point we were already dressed up. We had a quick burger at Shake Shack and headed over to my place to chill. I clearly told her that I'll be wearing the same outfit tomorrow.  She said she'll be doing the same thing.

Saturday comes and I go pick her up. Both of us looked exactly like we did the day before. She got in my car and I said "hello yesterday"
My friend couldn't stop laughing.

I thought it was a great comment :)
I shared it with Shahed and told her that I wished other people were around to hear my funny comment. She said the best way to share it is through comics! I fell in love with the idea!

Starting from now on, I'll be sharing such comments with her since I believe it will be of great help for her in the future :D

New Beginnings

I am so happy to say that I cannot wait to start a new journey.

I have decided to end my journey and carry on new challenges.

There is just so much that I want to do and overtime I learned that I can't do any of it with my current situation.

Based on my decision to start everything over, I already started looking at gyms that offer Les Mills classes. I found one really near my home and I am MORE than excited to sign up and make a new group of friends. I have enough money saved up to do whatever I want.

Hopefully Nidhi and I will be able to plan a trip around both Turkey and India and have a little "eat pray love" journey of our own.
Again, based on my decision, I am feeling so confident that I feel like I can't even sit on this chair! I have SO much to look forward to. I don't regret anything that happened in this journey as I believe everything happened for a certain reason. If some circumstances did not come to play, I would have never made the decision of starting over.

I consider myself really lucky with everyone and everything around me that will help build my future.
I have 2 personal projects that I want to work on and I can't wait to make it happen :)

Anonymous Confessions

I came across Anonymous Confessions on stumbleupon.com

I really liked the idea of how they have booths and allow people to write their confession.

All confessions are hanged on a wall for everyone to see. The project allows everyone to see what troubles others are going through. I think the best message to convey as a result could be "you are not alone".

Everyone has secrets. But can everyone have the same secrets?

It just got me to think what kind of confessions we would hear from Kuwait?

Reunited

I can't wait to get on the plane in a few hours and reunite with my friends! I'm going via istanbul and I really wish I stayed there for a day or 2 but oh well.

Two of my friends from college continued their masters abroad so I'm super excited to see them.

With one of them we met at cross cultural relations class. That's when twitter was in demand and we would sit across the room and just tweet each other.
With the other friend, she came up to me in calc class and asked why I came to Turkey from the states. Ha! Till this day I wonder who told her I came from the states?! Oh how rumors start.

In 2010 I went to cairo via istanbul and the first mentioned friend was going to Italy via istanbul.  We went together and he had the shock of his life when he saw me sleeping as soon as I fastened my seat belt. Then in 2011 I went to Amsterdam with him and 2 others.

This trip will definitely be crazy!

Need to hurry up on my packing!

Friendship

I was thinking about the group if people I hang out with.

I realized that I meet people in the most random ways ever.

I have a friend which I had messaged through Facebook due to his business in kuwait.  He came to istanbul while I was there and that was the first time I met him in person.

Another friendship began while I was at work and this girl comes in oue department looking for a photo copy machine. We chatted for a couple minutes and I had mentioned that she looked familiar. 2 hrs later I went to the gym, getting ready forr a class and I bumped into the same girl!

What's the most interesting story you've had that started a wonderful friendship?

Anonymous

I thought for a while if it's a good thing that I'm revealing my identity through this blog.

I am following many local bloggers and only very few reveal themselves.

If someone is anonymous, what does it tell you?

I personally feel like they are hiding something from everyone, including themself

I don't really see anything I have to hide or keep away from certain people. The things I share here are not deep dark secrets. If I had something thay I wouldn't want to share, I wouldn't be dumb enough to share it on the world wide web.
I also feel like the person who is anonymous will be revealed sooner than later. You can't hide forever.

Speaking about telling the truth,  I noticed that any information that I need or want comes to me. I asked a friend a very simple, easy yes/no question. I got a answer. A couple days later, another friend asks me a question related to the question I had. A little confusing but basically,  the first friend wasn't being very honest with me.

That's when I realized: when I require specific information, it will find a way to come to me.

It's amazing how this life works!
And I LOVE it!!

Giving up

I always told myself that I would not give up on you. I was committed and did everything I could to make you happy. I put so much effort and you compromised nothing. You pushed away, I fell and broke.

That is what happened. I really didn't think you would have done this to me but this side of you finally came. Thank God that it happened sooner than later.

This showed me what kind of person I am and what I deserve.

Like I said;
Senin icin az sey yapmadim. Degerimi anlamayan kisi hayatimin bir parcasi olamaz.

I did things that I would not have done for others.

I can say I gave up on you.
I am at peace with myself.

Spinning

I went to spinning class yesterday and today. I felt all right yesterday.  Woke up thia morning with soar legs, but that didn't stop me. I went back today and the instructor was really motivating,  kept telling me I was doing great when I know I could have done better.  Will definitely go back tomorrow :)

All because of you

A lot has happened over the last couple of months. The blog has been on my mind helping honestly but felt no energy to put my thoughts together. I have so many ideas and I'm considering to take this blog a lot more serious than I did when I first started writing.
In my life, I could easily say that the people who have the most effect on my actions and decisions are my friends - no doubt about that.
Last night I had an inspiring chat with Hannah. It had been a long time since we spoke. Our schedules seem to clash about 96% of the time. Why do I say it was an inspiring chat? Because she said she misses reading my posts and that they help her understand what I'm doing or going through. I sat down and thought about it. If I don't post my thoughts here, then where will I? I prefer typing than writing since it's much faster.
So Hannah, this post is dedicated to you :) thank you for inspiring me in ways you'd never know.
Apart from that, I went to Muscat at the end of February with my parents and it was just beautiful and so different than the other GCC countries. I felt that the people were more civilized. I can argue that's it's because money doesn't come to them and they actually have to work to earn a living.
At the beginning of May,  Nidhi and I enjoyed a weekend getaway in Beirut and it was just amazing. We had a blast. It was our first time there, we didn't know anyone and we were carefree. We did whatever we wanted to do. Oh yeah, that includes tattooed! We each got a small heart ♡ I got mine near my shoulder/chest area and she on her wrist. The tattoo artist,  Jad and John Claude,  were so much fun. We spent close to 2 hours over there! We partied all night and made neq friends. I am definitely looking forward to going back when I get the chance :)
There are so many thoughts racing
through my mind.  I feel so incredibly happy and excited.
