Miss Turkey 2010

So, in this tiny world, Miss Turkey 2010 happened to be crowned to Gizem Memic, who happens to go to the same university (Bilkent University) as me! Good luck to you Gizem in Miss World.

I really don't know why but I feel angry. Not at the fact that I didn't get a chance to participate, but at the fact that she's still studying and it's very difficult to accomplish other things, especially globally, when someone is a full time student. When I looked back at the previous Miss Turkey's, they were born in the 90's. What about the 23-24 year olds who have already gotten their diplomas and actually have the potential to impose change. I'm not arguing that Memic won the crown, however, I'm just arguing that this is a beauty contest and the winner is supposed to be somebody who has goals GLOBALLY, that's why the winner gets the opportunity to participate in Miss WORLD.

Maybe I'm just over-thinking it. If you ask me, I think Queen Rania is certainly a role model. I think she is BEAUTIFUL and what she does to her country is just, I can't find a word, but I'm sure you know what I mean. She's a real Queen and she's a genuine representative. Yes, beauty does play a big role in what someone can do, but there are other considerations, too.

Maybe I'm just blabbing random words. I have so many things on my mind that I want to do, and I guess I just want a starting point. I think that if I can get crowned, or even just by applying, I could have the opportunity to start crossing off the list of things I want to do.

Anyway, the other day I was thinking, and I thought that I want to start to write a book! Silly? Maybe, but I still want to do it. I don't know what I want to write about but I do have some couple of ideas. I won't be spilling anything, not yet at least :)
